CTAR® Ball SmarterFIT with Inflating Air Adjuster

Introducing the CTAR®Ball SmarterFIT with Inflating Air Adjuster. The SmarterFIT is the improved version of our CTAR® Ball Original and comes with our new Air Adjuster for even more precise positioning and personalized performance. It has been engineered in more user-friendly weight and material.  This makes the ball fit a variety of different sized individuals and yet provide the necessary resistance to exercise the swallowing muscles. Specifically, the SmarterFIT works for multi directional chin tuck against resistance exercises where the ball is positioned on either side as the chin tllts to perform the drills.

The Inflating Air Adjuster works to increase or decrease the amount of air in the ball by either releasing air or increasing the air by blowing into the inserted device.  It cannot be used as a air pump with a totally deflated ball. 

CTAR® Ball SmarterFIT is used to strengthen swallowing muscles by placing it between the chin and the chest while sitting upright, then squeezing it with the chin to create resistance.  Perform isometric exercises (hold for 10-60 seconds) or isokinetic exercises (repeated reps) to improve larynx elevation. 

This product is based on research by Yoon WL et al. (2014), “New Method for Enhancing Suprahyoid Activity Using a Shaker-type Exercise”. CTAR Ball ® Chin Tuck Against Resistance is a swallowing rehabilitation method used for enhancing suprahyoid muscle activity in lieu of using a sustained head lift (Shaker-type) exercise. Use of the CTAR BALL works to help with the opening of the upper esophagus which allows food to enter the stomach.
